This week we welcome Cleckheaton to Kellyethorpe for our North One East fixture.

Driffield will be boosted having the centre pairing of Dench and Stephenson back in the starting team. Lawrence keeps his spot at full back. In the pack, Borman makes his first start, and Dinsdale returns on the flank. Grant and Zavatti make their season debuts on the bench.

Last weekend saw the Woldsmen lose their undefeated title to league newcomers West Leeds. In a tight game, a last-minute penalty kick following a high tackle saw Leeds go home with the points, Driffield gaining 1 losing bonus point.  Our defeat to West Leeds saw us drop to fifth in league with 10 points, 4 behind early leaders Penrith. Cleck sit seventh with 9 points.

Cleck have had a decent start: they lost on the opening weekend at Penrith 38-20, but since then have won their two other games, winning 33-7 at Bradford &Bingley and beating Bridlington 28-26 at Cleck.

Cleckheaton joined us in North One East following relegation from National 3 last season : they finished in the dreaded 12th spot following a massive last weekend, 2 points behind Doncaster Phoenix.

Driffield and Cleckheaton are welled versed against each other. Although our last meeting was in the 2013/14 season – Cleck won both games that season, beating us at Kelleythorpe 39-32 and 33-14 at theirs. They went on to win league, losing only twice. We finished 4th, 45 points behind.
