Driffield 1st XV return to league action tomorrow, returning to the north east for their North One East match against Percy Park.

Having won 4 of our last 5 games, Driffield will travel full of confidence. The last two weeks have shown how strong our squad is at present : 2 victories over Malton, the 1st in the league with a full strength team, the latter in the Yorkshire Cup, with both sides making changes. Both games were hard-fought, with the result in doubt until the last few minutes.

Percy Park are having a tough season, currently sitting 10th in the league with 19 points. They are currently on a losing streak which runs back to the 30th September, when they beat Malton 17-40 at the Gannock. Since then they have lost to West Leeds, Morpeth, Penrith, Bradford & Bingley and Bridlington last time out, 34-10. Their wins have come against Dinnington, Northern and Malton, with a draw against West Hartlepool.

Last season we did the double over Percy Park, beating them 43-34 at Kelleythorpe and 28-15 up North. They would end up finishing the season in 7th position in the league, 10 points behind us.

The squad returns back to league strength after last week’s Cup game.
