Another local derby for our 1st XV, as they travel up to the coast to face Scarborough RUFC.

Scarborough, after losing their play-off for promotion last season, have made a solid start to this season’s campaign, currently sitting at the top of North One East on 31 points, one place and a point ahead of us – the difference being an extra losing BP.  They have lost at Cleckheaton on the 1st weekend of the season 32-29, and to York at Scarborough a few weeks ago 21-24.  Last time out they had a good win at Durham City 13 – 14.

Last season it was one apiece, with both sides winning away from home. Scarborough won at Driffield 22 – 27, whilst we won at Scarborough 26 – 42.

Driffield will be looking to get back to winning ways after our last league fixture. Driffield seemed to let Cleckheaton into the game when we should have finished them off. Final score being 28 – 37 to Cleck. Full match report here: https://driffieldrufc.com/2019/10/28/driffield-27-38-cleckheaton-saturday-26-october-2019/

If you can’t make it through to Scarborough, try and get down to Kelleythorpe and support the 2nd team as they welcome Wharfedale 2nds in the Yorkshire Merit League.  Wharfedale are always a tough test – no doubt tomorrow will be no different.  We are showing our squad depth at the minute, nearly all tomorrow’s second team have made a 1st team appearance this season.

Good Luck to All.
