1st and 2nd XVs welcome Old Brodleians, and the Ladies XV travel to Yarnbury on Sunday.

A warm welcome to Old Brodleians RUFC this weekend, as they head to Kelleythorpe for our North One East league game.  Click here to see the match programme.

We haven’t played Old Brods since the 2012/13 season – that was in Yorkshire 1, and we won both games : 35 -10 at Kelleythorpe and 39 – 26 at Brods. Brods have had a great to start to the season, sitting top of the pile with 33 points.  The top 4 – Brods, Ilkley, us and Heath – have opened a bit of gap (6 points) to 5th place Morley.  Brods, like us, have only lost once so far, losing at Ilkley 36-12.  They have beaten Morpeth (A), Morley (H), Pock (H), Cleck (A), Scarborough (H), Moortown (A) and, last time out, they beat Malton 40 – 32 at home.

As mentioned earlier the top 4 have made a small gap to 5th, which makes this fixture very important to keep pace at the top. Ilkley travel to Morley, while Heath host Moortown.

A few changes in our match day squad compared with the squad that travelled to Moortown.  The back line is pretty settled with the only change being Robinson returning from injury to start at 9 and skipper the team.  In the forwards, Robson comes in for Nellen who has gone back to sea for a few months.  Cullen replaces Jenkinson in the 2nd row, and its all change in the back row : Sowersby (unavailable), Mewburn (injured) and Brankley (unavailable) are replaced by Johnson, Murray and Forbes.  Ramsden, Blenkinsop and Young take to the bench.  Again our depth is showing as we could field a very good side with injured and unavailable players this weekend.

The 2nd XV also entertain Old Brods – they are having a great season, second in their league behind Wharfedale 2nds. Good Luck to those lads.

A welcome weekend off for 3rd and 4th XVs.

The Ladies are sending a mixed 1st/2nd team to Yarnbury on Sunday as they look to get more game time. Good luck ladies.

We have 170 booked in for pre-match lunch , and will be showing the Autumn Internationals on the screens all weekend – a great weekend ahead.
