The 1st XV travelled to Derby to face West Bridgford, with a late change of venue resulting in the match taking place at the University of Derby’s artificial pitch.

Driffield got straight into the action with a penalty by Watts, followed by a Ben Dinsdale try converted by Watts, making it West Bridgford 0 – 10 Driffield after just 8 mins.

Five minutes later West Bridgford got their only points of the game with a penalty. West Bridgford 3 – 10 Driffield

It would take another 12 minutes of hard work before Driffield scored again, this time by Jack Sowersby  converted by Watts.  West Bridgford 3 – 17 Driffield

Watts kicked a penalty with three minutes to go in the half, and Jenkinson scored just before half time, again converted by Watts,  West Bridgford 3 – 27 Driffield.

20 minutes of the second half had elapsed before Driffield were able to break the Bridgford defence with another try by Dinsdale, converted by Watts. West Bridgford 3 – 34 Driffield.

Almost ten minutes later, Blacker got the next, unconverted. West Bridgford 3 – 39 Driffield.

With ten minutes left, Bridgford’s defence weakened.  Watts went in for the try, which he converted. West Bridgford 3 – 46 Driffield.

Five minutes later, Tom Brankley went in for a try, converted by Watts. West Bridgford 3 – 53 Driffield.

And with three minutes left, Adam Brankley went in for a try, converted by Watts. West Bridgford 3 – 60 Driffield.

The win sees Driffield up to 4th place, just a point ahead of Cleckheaton.
