1st XV Welcome Paviors RUFC, 2nd XV welcome Hull Ionians 2nd XV, 3rds aloes at home as they welcome BP RUFC, whilst the 4th team go on the road travelling to Malton & Norton RUFC. Ladies play on Sunday as they make the to Crewe & Nantwich RUFC.

Paviors RUFC make thier 1st ever visit to Kelleythorpe on Saturday, as the travel up from Nottingham. Paviors were moved to Regional 1 North East after finishing second bottom of Midlands Premier the season before. The joined Scunthorpe, Doncaster Phoenix & West Bridgford in the move from Midlands to North rugby.

Paviors are in a battle for relegation with Scunthorpe, Paviors are currently 4 points ahead of Scunthorpe, both have 3 games remaining, with the two facing each other next weekend, in what could be a winner stays up.

Having said that, Paviors gave themself a real chance of staying up last weekend, beating Doncasterhier Phoenix 28-19 recording their fourth win of the season. All the wins have come at home, against Phoenix, Alnwick, Scunthorpe & York.

In our 1st meeting back on the 1st weekend of the season, Driffield travelled to Nottingham on bit of an journey into the unknown, our 1st time facing Paviors, on the 1st weekend in the league above. we won 31-29. And if truth be told, we haven’t looked back since then.

We travelled to Ilkley last weekend, and came home with 2 Bonus points, losing 34-35. Half time we were 21-10 down, and didn’t look like coming home with a win, but once again, the boys turned it on in the 2nd half, a last minute score and conversion made it a 1 point loss. Ilkely are no mugs and although they have not had the best of seasons, they have only lost 3 at home this season, its been on their travels that have causde them a headache.

A completely different back line from last week, Robinson starts at 9, Watts moves to 10, Sowersby & Blacker start in the centres, Dinsdale returns at full back, with Rix & Brankley on the wings. In the pack Mckinnon, Pettinger & Thundercliffe start in the front row again, Turner partners Grant, Gleeson has headed back to Oz, Falkingham returns in the back row along side Jenkinson & Brankley. ShortMurray (rob) & Robson on the bench.

2nd team host Hull Ionians 2nds, once again looking to keep pace with Wharfdale & the front runners in the play-off chase.

Both 1st & 2nd teams will be wearing special one-off jersey on Saturday, which have been been bought by individual players, we have also gt player sponsors for this weekend, and will be raising money throughout the day all in aid of Leeds Hospitals Charity.

Its our final league fixture of season so lets have a good one finish the fight for the 2nd spot.

The second place would be all the more important as it appears it gain us entry into the higher level cup that is planned for the end of the season. 2 pools of 4 teams, made up from this level, at North East, North West & Midlands will battle it out, its not clear what the next steps are, however the final will be at Twickenham at the end of April. That would be a good finish to the season.

3pm KO for Saturday.

Good Luck to all in Blue, Black & White.
